I’ve made a few post on my steering issues with my 97 2dr Z71. I’ve replaced every steering part on the truck and different steering boxes, still all over the road. At some point I’ll get a good steering box lol.
I called Borgeson trying to get a part number for a 4 turn box, like stock. My truck has 3.5 inch lift and 33.5 ish inch tires, (295’s). Come to find out Borgeson only makes one box for my truck. It’s a 3 turn box with 12.7:1 ratio. They guy I spoke with seemed very knowledgeable. He said serious off-road, jacked up with really big tires he wouldn’t recommend it. He said guys are running their box with larger tires then I have with no problem. He said it I felt it steered too quick, regulate the pump down. He said any good shop should be able to do that.
On one hand I’m tempted to try it, on the other hand I buy an Edelmann or send my high dollar custom AGR box that all over the road to Blue Top to get rebuilt.
I’m trying to find someone running a Borgeson box on a lifted truck.
Like I said it was an interesting conversation and he asked a lot of good questions on what I’d done to my truck to make sure it’s the box. I said every steering part on the truck, Cunningham shaft even wheel bearings.
Comments please if going the Borgeson route makes sense or not.
