Wanna get an exhaust for my truck (6.2L Denali), and keep going back and fourth between Borla or Magnaflow.

I wanna keep it quiet, inside and out, so Corsa is out. It's gotta last long too.

Yes, in the future, I may add Headers, or even Supercharge it.

Borla - 304 Stainless, same as GM Performance Exhaust...BUT...uses piping that's smaller than OE, for the whole system, I don't like that.

Magnaflow - Maintains OE piping diameter, same Muffler / Resonator Configuration as OE...BUT...409 Stainless.

The 304 VS 409 is what's keeping me stuck. I'm out on Long Island, live on the Water, and well, just the Air alone is Salty enough to make things rust. Not mentioning the amount of Salt they use in the Winter, and the flooding that happens for no reason, making your truck look like someone threw Table Salt all over it, when it dries.

409 stainless contains a higher percentage of iron and will develop more surface rust than 304 over time, especially after being exposed to heat. 409 only contains about 10% chromium while 304 stainless steel contains up to 20% chromium and has a much lower concentration of iron.

Bottom line, in terms of corrosion resistance, 304 will be better for the region you live in.

Hmmm I love my Corsa and don't think its loud at all. I would say it has minimal if any drone and has a beautiful tone under acceleration. I can honestly say the Corsa actually seems to be the only exhaust I've ever owned that I feel thought went into the design. Great product imo...

You want to keep it quiet inside and out? OK, but why would you replace the exhaust to begin with? Both Borla and Magnaflow will likely last a long time, but probably not that much longer than your factory exhaust.

shrug

Because I like tinkering with my vehicles.

I don't want it loud, because it's not a muscle car, it's a Luxury SUV.

I love Corsa stuff, used them plenty in the past. They're not loud on the inside at all, but outside, they're louder than what I'm wanting on this truck.

Go with a large-body Magnaflow muffler...or a cat-back kit that includes one.

They have Sport and Touring systems and you could always add or keep the resonator near the exit to tone it down some more if need be.

Corsa only offers a Sport System for this truck.

Unless you know of a secret Touring System that will fit?
