OK so I have a Premium Bose system with the premium amp. I had no audio from the speakers but did at the rear headphone jacks. I was told but the dealer that the amp had an internal fault. So I picked up a Bose Lux amp from a 2006 Denali that I know works. I've read up on this subject quite a bit and especially this thread (http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/92889-the-how-to-guide-on-installing-tnr800/). What I'd like to know are a few things:

1. Can my 6-disc head unit work with the Lux amp? Does it need to be reprogrammed (vin relearn via TechII) or does it automatically search the Class 2 data wire for configuration info at power on?

2. I'm assuming that the premium and lux harnesses have different pin assignments on different connectors thus necessitating the wire reassignment procedure detailed in the link posted above. Is this correct?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

(Note: I'd like to keep this HU" if possible. Not interested in NAV units.

No, your current head unit will not work with the Bose Lux Amp. The Lux amp communicates with the head unit in a different way.

The premium amps and lux amps do in fact have different pin assignments. You could get a head unit from a Denali, Sierra Denali or Escalade to work with the lux amp.
