Went to start my Tahoe this evening and both low beams out. Taillights, signal lights work. Didn’t have time to check the fuses. My friend said I should disconnect the battery so the computer can reset itself.

computer has nothing to do with it, check your fuses and bulbs if there both good then you have the parking brake on or a funky switch

Thanks. Would charging the battery numerous times have an effect on the low beams not working? Last week was freezing cold in N.Y. and the battery needed to be jumped a couple of times.

no, are you sure you don't just have the parking brake on? the parking brake deactivates the low beams or at least it did on my 2000

if it's not the parking brake, fuses, or bulbs, there is also a relay in the fuse box, one for low beams and another for high beams they are the same relay you can just swap them to check.
