Brake Light Switch

I need to change the switch on my 05 Z71. I can see it and I can see the plug, but how in the world do I get that clip off and get easier access to the switch itself? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Remove the bezel and have your key in to do that so you can drop it down to 1st gear so it will pull out smoothly.

Use a small Flat head screw drive to push down on the latch to let it loose. Its difficult and swear words will be present but you can get it.

The clip put up a little bit of a fight since I couldn't really see how the clip worked, but I was able to get it. Thanks.

I think mine is goin bad on my escalade. Turn signals, hazaeds work fine. No brk lights though, this sou d like the switch?

That was pretty much the same symptoms I had except my brake lights worked intermittently. Now they seem to be working like they should be.
