I have a 2006 Yukon Denali that is essentially stock. I was driving it today and was at a red light when the guy next to me let me know my left brake light is out. This came as no surprise to me because I have had to replace that light every couple of weeks while my right brake light seems to last a reasonable amount of time. When I got home I replaced the bulb but the brake light still did not light when depressing the peddle but does flash when I lock the car. I may be wrong but that does not seem like an issue with the bulb to me.

Any suggestions on what might be my issue or where to start looking would be much appreciated.

Try cleaning the socket terminals and make sure no debris is there. Might be a bad socket. Had that problem once in my OBS rig
