Okay,

I noticed my cruise wasn't working so I came here and realized that it was my brake lights. I tested all the fuses and none of them broken. So I went to my mech while he was in his drive way not working but helping me out big time. He told me that because of this, it's either the brake light switch or the BCM but he wanted me to research the BLS because it was cheaper for me. I went to Autozone and they told me that it could be a short before the BLS and I would just waste 30 bucks but I feel that my Mech is really helping me out and that the guy at autozone had a bad experience. Anyone have experience in this? All help is welcomed!!!

sorry, my question is, do you think I should switch the BLS or get the truck tested? I am thinking just getting it replaced...

That's what I thought. After looking at the link, I am curious. Does anyone have pics of the wires I need to test? I have seen tons of pics of the switch by it self but nothing of it connected or what wires to test. Thanks!!!

I believe you test pin A and ground(bare metal). Not sure if all 2000-2006 are the same.

Just got it back, took half a day and it turns out there was a short after the switch however the old switch had it. It was burned on the connectors and the plastic was somewhat melted. replaced that part and fixed the short cost me 116 with parts and labor. Thanks for all your help.
