Hi everyone!
Here is my new problem: at low speeds, the braking effect is not homogeneous; at higher speed (exiting the freeway for example) the steering wheel shakes.
I'm thinking about a different thickness of the front rotors.
Front rotors and pads have 15000 miles on.
What can cause such a fast and incorrect wear?
My mechanic says that it's caused by the rear drums not properly set.

What do you think?

Thanks

The bolts that hold the caliper on need to be greased to allow the caliper to "float". Make sure all of your front end suspension components are in good shape.

Im pretty sure my calipers got in a bind once and wore the outer pad WAY down to where it failed. Another thing is to get GOOD quality rotors and pads. These trucks braking systems suck to begin with, don't skimp on the 20 dollar economy rotors that warp if you look at them. I always by the most expensive rotor (within reason) I can find and match them with premium pads.

Sounds like rotors are warped from the overheating either caused by the caliper pad mount area not allowing free movement. Will need to be cleaned and lubed with high temp grease. Pad slide points need same. Calipers need to be checked and make sure a piston(s) is not hanging up. Also, the rear brakes need to be in good shape and adjusted properly so they do their fair share. If not that can also cause front brakes to overheat and warp rotors. If the front pads overheated, make sure you replace them. I would replace the rotors instead of resurfacing them. IMO
