I have decided to make mine more capable. There are 2 things that I want to start - 1) a winch (suggestions) and 2) 33-35's. This will be mostly street/trail with occasional "way off road" use. It's not my daily and does not need a ton of droop, just some clearance.
On my '89 I used ORD 1" body pucks which were great, so my first thought is a 2" body lift for a little clearance. The '89 was basically a rock crawler, so there are few carryover lessons from the rest of the suspension. And I would rather not trim a ton (unless there are pocket flares available without breaking the bank)
So what's out there?

@cbbr I haven't seen too many body lifts for the 3rd gen so I cannot speak on that. Depending on your preferences you could get away with a 3 inch spacer lift in the front and rear and that would give you more room to fit bigger tires but just like every IFS truck once you get to about 3 inches of lift you quickly need to start replacing parts to gain more lift than 3 inches. I am at 3-4 inches using springs and spacers and to support this amount of lift I have aftermarket front upper control arms, extended rear sway bar links, and an adjustable rear panhard bar. If I wanted to go any higher I would be looking into a front lower control arm crossmember drop, probably rear control arm relocation/drop brackets, front diff drop, and a bunch of other parts to keep my Tahoe riding how I want it to.
