Haven't really messed with it, but I've been wondering this too since I have a couple buttons I can't see at all in the dark.

Pulling the entire wheel to replace a button?? Are ya kidding me!?!

The switches are plug-and-play. Once you get them out, you just unplug the old, plug in the new.

I just took a pen knife, pryed it into the switch itself, and popped it out. Granted, I did this while sitting in a parking lot waiting for Target to open, but if you can get a hook or pick behind the whole assembly it just pops out.

A small set of needle nose could probably grab the outside edge of the switch also to pull it out.

they just pull out. but you have to be careful because there isn't alot of slack with the wire harness.

They are pretty easy to get out. You just need to slide any thing with a 90 degreee bend in it past the control module and turn and it pulls right out. Ditto on being carfull about the lack of slack. Problem is after you get it out the bulbs are hard wired into the circuit board. I did see somewhere on one of the boards where someone replaced the incadecent bulbs with LED's, that would be my choice. The other things you will have a problem with is gettting the damn things plugged back in. Again very little slack in the wiring.

If anyone has the link to that post please post a link. I'[ll try to find it also.
