Is the MAF sensor a common problem? I've never replaced one, only removed and cleaned.

I believe it's more of a problem on earlier (e.g. '07-'10) than on 2012's. I had to replace one on my '07, for example, but it's a totally different design on the 2012.

my experience has been they start to get goofy around 165k on multiple gm vehicles, I replaced the one on my 2012 at 85k and threw it in a drawer in my tool box, it was like $70
had enough fits with them before they can be the cause of all kinds of crap, rough idling, funky shifting (enough to make you think the trans is f'ed up), 02 codes, lean codes, misfires.
and ya that was on earlier designs but for me better safe than sorry $70 is cheap insurance.

Wow thank you all for the replies. I’ll be doing a custom tune to delete AFM. I used diablew on my Silverado so I may use him on the Yukon. I’m getting a great deal on it so I’ll just plan on doing most of the wear parts mentioned above. Anything I can’t do myself with common garage tools?

Might as well get the tech2, They are essential to diagnose "anything" and "everything" electrical on these vehicles. Congrats on the new Rig, They are "Road Limo's" by my definition.

Here it is all cleaned up. 2010 not a 2012 but in good shape. I did the following to it so far:

All fluids changed
Serpentine belt replaced
Brake caliper front and rear replaced
Brake pads and rotors in the front
Diablo Sport 91 Octane Tune
Replaced Spark Plugs
K&N air filter
Repair front driver side sway bar bolt

Future projects are:

Corrosion X Rust Remover spray on underbody

Air Compressor is very loud and I get a service suspension alert about every other start up. I’m guessing a new compressor is needed but I’m not sure what is common on the vehicle.

Rust starting on both rear side panels I’ll try the corrosion x rust remover there also and paint.
