Does anyone know how I would go about eliminating all the Bose nonsense from my 99 Denali? Only a couple speakers are working, and Bose blows. Once I get her on the road daily, I'm going to be adding my own sound, and the Bose has to go. Any help would be much appreciated.

New everything and use an amplifier.

What's your budget.

Eh. Wasn't really what I was looking for. I'll be replacing the headunit with a Kenwood KDC-X996 like in my Prelude, replacing the door speakers with Sundown components. Don't know what I'm going to do with anything behind the front doors just yet because I haven't looked into what I can do with the rear doors just yet. I'll most likely not put anything in the rearmost speaker location (4x10s?) because that's a mostly useless location without proper time alignment capabilities, which requires processors and time I don't feel like fooling with. Took me long enough just to fine tune the time alignment in my Prelude, where everything is fairly compact and easy to get right. In such a large vehicle, having everything in correct phase will be quite a challenge. As for a substage, I'm going with a Sundown SAX-1200D with two Sundown SA-10 speakers, in about 3 cubes, tuned low to about 32hz. Not looking to beat the block down, but it's been a long time since I had the extra space to run a decent setup. Though, I think two of those tens may be a bit overkill. Powering the door speakers/components will be a Precision Power Phantom 900.4 or Sundown SAZ125.4. Not sure which yet. Would like to have matching amps, but those PPI Phantom amps put out some insane power for such a compact chassis. I have one in my Prelude and it's absolutely insane how much sound I get out of that little guy amp.

Yes, I have a fetish for Sundown equipment. I'll most likely glass an enclosure along the side wall of the truck to maximze cargo area. I did something similar in my Prelude, but due to space concerns, had to run 6.5" DD subs instead. It was a fair tradeoff to be able to say I have subs between my rear seats instead of in the trunk lol.

Sounds like you know what you want. :D

There is a bunch of bose crap mounted inside the center console. It would be a good place to mount the new amps if they fit.

I'm not that familiar with the bose equipment, but I saw a picture of a pile of bose stuff that came out of a denali. The rear most speakers weren't 4x10, but rather what looked like 4" speakers and adapter plates.

edit: Upon research they did use adapter plates with 3.5" speaker

Yeah it would be a good place to mount, but ventilation would become an issue I think. That issue can be fixed though. I once had a small 4 cahnnel amp mounted in the glove box of one of my old cars. It was pretty slick. Guess I'll just have to wing it lol
Actually, I can get away with mounting under the seat... just remembered they don't hug the floor like in my car, lol.

I have 2 amps under the rear seat. Kinda wish they weren't there when I have to fold down the seats.

I could hide the 4 channel in the console, and make a nice rack for the sub amp if need be. I dunno. I'll wing it as I get my hands into it
