Has anyone on here installed a Cnotch on their truck? I just did the passenger side and it looks pretty good, now going on the drivers side tomorrow i have a couple questions before i get ahead of myself.

What did you all do with the cross member coming right in the middle of where you need to cut at? I know i cant get rid of it because its holding a major component to its suspension...

Also do we need the tire carrier? im wanting to rip mine off, but im not sure if its a structural part of the rear frame.. thanks.. ill post pics up of my cnotch here shortly..

I sanded off the cheap powdercoat DJM put on there and i threw away those grade 5 dinnky bolts and picked up some grade 8 ones. You would think being the frame and how strong it should be, why not use grade 8 huh?

atomic, i'm no metallugist (sp?) but the grade i think is more a measure of tensile strength (along the bolt) than the shear strength (across the bolt). just cause it's harder doesn't mean it is stronger across the bolt. i'd look into that grade bolt issue a little further, harder may mean more brittle, which i'd hate to see you shear any of those bolts. just playing devils advocate. check up on it maybe. branndon
