how do i get to see the battery pack to see if it's clogged with dust?

is it a good value their asking price is 13,999..
it's fully loaded
I will mostly be doing 100% City driving with the occasional trip on the freeway. Our area is fairly flat land. with most traffic lights about 1/4 to 1 mile apart speed limit 40-60mph (45mph mostly)

92,800 miles on it. The battery warranty Expires in April 27th 2019 or if I can drive 57,000 miles in 4 months

I know CARB models have higher binned battery cells, (bc of the warranty )


Single owner looks like the paint is in Excellent condition
I mean if you can;t bother to take care of the paint how well was it taken care of overall?..
I have yet to see it in person though.


according to the car fax it was last serviced at 48k so it might need service again: aka cleaning...



I will only be driving about 5,000 miles a year all city.

there does not seem to be any of those typical bumper Scrapes heavy outside wear damage from the wind "wear" or sun damage wear


The seat has a minor tear on it..
I know it will need some maintenance upon buying it like the dip tube and AFM screen

checked out a
2011 Model as well they keep changing the price on me they said 15200 but after checking out a few others then said 16,700
and it had a oil sensor issue the person tried to blame the auto start thing
it's a 6.0 do they have the sticky valve?? issue?

I don't want to sped 16,700 and get only 5 miles away then the engine blows up

Fair market value is $16,000-16,500


I had them at ($13,200)$15,200 including tax etc...then they went back on it 13,000 is the price I want to pay so it's 15k flat . bought price 13,000 and pay price 15,000 total


the muti-switch (turn signal ) for left was worn out and did not shut off when it returned to the normal spot...

Not sure what model you are looking at maybe a 2012 or 2013 to be in that high of a price range? I would negotiate in a price deduction for a new Hybrid Battery regardless of what the market value is. Dealer suggested retail price foir anew hybrid battery pack is around 4300 but you can find them pretty easy for around 3700.

I would negotiate in a price deduction for a new Hybrid Battery regardless of what the market value is. Dealer suggested retail price foir anew hybrid battery pack is around 4300 but you can find them pretty easy for around 3700.

that one had issues with the 4x4 system that did not engage

the 2011 I had seen had issue oil sensor issues

it had a dent on the fender and service 4x4


it had a weird lag. from electronic to engine guess the battery was bad since it switched quickly from electric to gas at20mph with a 1/2 second lag time. scared me a bit since my timming exiting the drive way did not account for that unexpected lag time.. the second one had oil sensor issuses and the engine sounded bad like it had been oil starved. or it was a pully

GM only made around 33,000 Two Mode units Tahoe/Yukon and Escalade from 2007 to 2013 some of course are wrecked and off the road. A lot of the early models 07-08-09 are approaching 200k miles and starting to show their age and have many issues. Market values appear to be dropping like a rock. I bought this 09 with just under 200k for $6,600.00 and it has over $3,000.00 worth of aftermarket wheels and tires. I have driven it approx 5,000 miles over the last few months and it has done about as expected. Have had some minor issues and 1 major cost issue (replaced the hybrid battery today 2649 I guess the point is do not overpay for a Hybrid Two Mode. It WILL need a Hybrid battery at some point (if it has not been replaced) and it WILL have FLA aluminum block 6.0 engine AFM issues and it WILL have transmission issues (one of te most complex transmission's ever put into a passenger vehicle) couple that with this being a low production/canceled model line with very little dealership repair expertise and I think that is more or less a Perfect Sh$t Storm. LMFAO Unless it is a ridiculously good deal then "run like the wind" away would be my advice.

Yeah. It's a nice idea, the hybrid. If the conditions were right - maybe a 2013 that was used as a backup truck for a corporate outfit, with like 50k miles and 1500h on the drivetrain, just off warranty - I'd consider it. Or maybe if you're really handy and have a second donor/parts vehicle and the factory manual handy. Otherwise I agree with dnt1010: these are a potential money pit.

As of this writing a dealer in the Chicago area has a Sierra hybrid I'd at least take a look at, if I were dead set on a hybrid truck.

I'm not scared of buying one the both I had test driven had perfectly smooth transmissions (except of that one that had the lag but more then likely was a "weak battery")..


I'll mostly not even be using the battery since the normal road speeds are from 40 to 50 some areas have 60mph (in the desert area)...

i would only be using it for around town tell I get a job then buy a volt for longer distance trips.



the issue with the area is getting stuck in a RED light loop
as i call it.
a good day is getting stuck in a green light loop ..

But I normally plan my routes that have the lest amount of traffic lights.. to avoid the red light loop..

they have the traffic lights set just right that you will hit every single red light. it sucks and can burn a lotta fuel


plus if I go on the freeway they do frequently slow down 5 to 20mph which having the battery will help a lot
