My dad used to be a volunteer fire-fighter. He drove the trucks! :) Anyway, he loved it! Very cool career choice, if you ask me!

Like a few years down the road? Or what?

Don't know which one you meant so I'll do both:hands:
-They curretnly have the most evolved trucks
-You can only get ff plates if your an active duty firefighter or retired it sucks but kinda cool for when you are one.

That one, lol. Hey, btw, we have to throw some sort of TYF party when you get your license! You have been super active, I'm sure everyone would agree!

I'm not a FF however from what I've read it's a good idea to prepare for the following:

- Qualification exams (there may be mock exams offered)
- Structured Oral Interview
- CPAT
- Background investigation

Your best bet is to contact the Recruiting department so they can guide you. Hiring processes, qualifications and disqualifications vary by State if I'm not mistaken. Recruiting also assists with coordination of citizen "ride outs" to give those interested an idea of what it's like to be a FF.

-I've been studying since 7-8th grade
-Seems like a normal interview from what I've heard moms friend is with fire and rescue and my hometown fire and we have a firefighting family and bomb squad family so I'm also kinda grandfathered in.
-I've seen what they do and I just need to be fit and have endurance and strength also watched it's crazy!
-I have a clean record.

Thanks for all the tips man btw you should throw the u2's on your nali!

I'm not a FF/EMT, but I've gone through the LE side and I can say that as hard as it is for people looking to do LE, it's 10x harder to get on as a FF. A family friend works HR for a big city in socal and they had an opening for FF. They had to close the posting after 3 hrs as they received over 800 qualified applicants in that timeframe. There are a lot of qualified people trying to get into the field and no openings. As was recommended, ride-alongs and cadet type programs are your best bet to get your foot in the door and make the contacts that can help you get hired.
