can a put a new model year steering wheel in a 2005

Seeing as I will never get rid of my tahoe. I just upgrade/replace as I go.
Is it possible to replace the stock steering wheel it came with in 2005 with a newer year? NNBS or so. What are the inherent issues? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
