Can anyone tell me what this wire is for

So i just bought my 2007 yukno xl denali i was changing my spark plugs and saw a red wire taped i have no idea what it is for but i was wondering if anyone would know

That's for if you ever decided to add a trailer brake controller. You would attach that wire to the B+ terminal in the fuse panel. Most trucks have those somewhere under the dash and under the hood. GM is nice enough to give you an eyelet ready to roll
