Went to fill my truck up 01 yukon after the normal 260-300 miles. I could only put 5 gallons in it and then overflowed. I have tried to more times to put gas in it and only can get 3 gallons in it. My buddy said its the canister purge solenoid on the side of the tank. Have any of y'all had this problem? My cousin wants to delete the evap system but I can't wait over a week. It's only been two days and its drove me crazy.

Sounds right. It's not letting the air out from the tank through the purge so its pushing air out the fill tube... Since your putting gas into the fill tube, it's pushing the gas out too

Ok cause that's the only thing that makes since for it. I wanted to see if any of y'all had it happen before I get the sensor. It's like 30-40 bucks. Is it on the side of the tank?

Guys where is the valve at? Is it on the side of the tank where I can get to it?

Ok cause I am going to make sure the line runs to the top of the tank. As long as it does I will unhook the hose go to the gas station and see what happens

Doesn't the line go to the EVAP canister not the gas tank?

What you're describing sounds like the fuel shut-off valve is stuck in the closed position. Used to see that problem all the time at my last shop primarily on Hyundais. Some older GM's and Fords have the same issue to, but more prevalent on newer foreign cars. If thats the case, the shut off valve is at the bottom of the fuel filler tube inside the tank.
