I am going to swap the air inlet door actuator on my 98 5.7 Tahoe. Mine can't seem to keep the door close for recirc. I found one on rockauto for 57 shipped. It's AC delco part number 1572106. Is this the right one?

Yea I tested it with the key on and set to max and recirc button on and watched it close very very slow (fan motor was out so I could clean the evap core) and then it was closed and kept falling a quarter of the way back open and then slowly closing again. I even put light pressure on it to see if the vacume of the blower on high would be enough to suck it open and it just fell half way open. also once I got it all back together I put the fan on high with recirc on Engine off and used smoke from some paper to see if it was getting sucked into the cowl and it was big time. Almost positive this is what has had my system running not as cool as it should be. Compressor is brand new GM and system was checked and cleaned for gunk at the same time. I always smell the out side air when I drive past lawn crews and I have it on recirc. I live in florida so between the heat, the core being a bit dirty, the humidity, and the door not staying closed it takes a real long time to cool the front of the truck off in the summer. It has rear A/C and it is always Ice cold.

The little plastic gear inside the actuator snaps in half or gets stripped. Mine snapped in half and I acutally repaired it.
