Can someone explain this to me about swapping grilles?

I am looking at this for my 2011 Tahoe

https://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-TAHOE-07-13-Front-Upper-and-Lower-Grill-Gloss-Black-Grille-Logo-Holder/292514086129?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

The stock upper grill houses the bowtie. This is a 2 piece set that does not have a bowtie. how do I fill the void in the painted middle section where the bowtie was? Do I just buy a bowtie and 3M tape it in? I'm a bit lost but I want to get a black upper and lower grille for my 2011.
That’s because those look like the grill under the trim/logo. You could leave it off but it wouldn’t look right as the trim has tabs that clip into the grill

If your grill has the bow tie attached to the upper grill shell like the pics @sumo posted then you have an LTZ or at least an LTZ grill.

The eBay listing is for a non-LTZ grill, which doesn't have the bowtie attached.

It will still fit and yes you could just use emblem tape to attach your bowtie back to the center.

I have a LT

Strange... I was always under the impression that the non LTZ grills didn't have that... maybe the LTZ grill is attached to upper and lower grill???

I will have to look at mine tomorrow and see.

By the way... I like the looks of your front bumper... what kind is it??? I'm guessing street scene.

Looks like an SS.

My 2011 is an LS and I just looked at it again and the upper chrome grille and bowtie are all 1 piece. Hmmm

I just purchased this exact item and this is what they dont tell you and what I found out on my own when I went to install it on my LTZ.
They include a black plastic insert for the bowtie that fits over the center section, however they include no hardware and expect ypou to take the insert off your old grille. I did not want to break the old grille in any way, so I purchased a street scene chrome bowtie that fit perfectly over the black plastic insert and came with all hardware needed. I will try to get a pic up.
