Can someone with Remote start try this for me?

I'm having ongoing issues with my remote start, it's been at the dealer now for two weeks with nearly every module reprogrammed and/or replaced.

The vehicle should have two remote starts allowed until a key cycle. Mine won't remote start 90% of the time without a key cycle first. Tech II shows the VSS active and registering a vehicle speed (but the speed shows 0) and the key in the ignition. Hood switch is active/inactive at the same time. Vehicle is not moving and the key is not in the ignition, hood is closed.
BCM replaced, RCDLR replaced, ECM flashed, anti-theft/passlock reflashed, etc, etc.

With that in mind can someone with a functioning remote start do a little test for me:

1. Remote start the vehicle.
2. Allow it to run about 1 minute or so.
3. Shut it off with the remote.
4. Let it sit for about 3-5 minutes

5. Repeat steps 1-4 again.

6. Try to repeat the steps again for a third time and post the results. The remote start should not work on the 3rd try and respond with a parking light flash and no start until the key is cycled.

As I previously mentioned, I'm unable to get a remote start on the first try about 90% of the time; it is non-functional.

That's how mine works exactly. Two starts and that's it until you turn the key to the "on" position or actually start it up. I'm guessing this has nothing to do with range from the truck? Stupid question, but you do push "lock" first when you try this right?

I was going to ask the exact same thing. remote start will not function without you pushing the lock button first.

I tried mine and it works as described with no dice on the 3rd attempt until you actually use the key to turn it on.

That's exactly how I thought it was supposed to work.

Hopefully they'll get it fixed this week.............

SW CT,
For some reason your issue stuck in my head and I've been thinking about it and trying my tahoe to verify the proper operation. It works as you thought. I would have the service tech. look at the neutral safety switch, it allows the vehicle to be started when in Park and Neutral...if it is faulty or out of adjustment/spec just a little it could cause the issue you are experiencing. Not sure if they tried this yet, but just going off the list of things you have said it is not mentioned.

Almost two weeks into this, every module reflashed and now replacing them one by one.

Today they are going to replace the passlock, driver side door switch, ignition switch and something else.........
