about a week ago i took my tahoe down into the river for a bonfire and had to wheel a little bit, but nothing crazy. drove just fine after that. then there was a big rain last monday and drove it through deep puddles to get it home from work. its been parked for a week and today i fired the sucker up and threw it into reverse and it wont move!

so for the details of whats happened;

the truck fired up like normal,
shifted into gear like normal, (i felt the normal lunge as it went into gear
and then it feels like the brakes are locked and will not let me move.

i gave it some gas to about 1500 rpms and it wont move. i can feel it trying to go but somethings holding it back.

anyone know what could cause this? or ever had this happen to them before?

Park brake could be locked up. Was it on?

it was on. But I did not think of that. I'll have to check

Ps. It wasn't on when I was trying to drive. Wanna clarify that before I look dumber than I am

Have you tried lifting each tire off the ground to see if they all rotate by hand?
Sounds like something drive train related, especially if you have the factory brake system.

I will try that today if I get time. But I'm thinking it is the parking brake just not letting go. I have it disengaged but I think it still is holding tight.

What's that for? I wasn't trying to drive with it on.

Cause if you hadn't of clarified that, that would be the first thing someone said on here...

Haha, that's what I had figured.

But I just fixed the problem. I gave it some gas while in gear as I was engaging and disengaging the brake a few times and it popped it loose. Good to go now. Glad it wasn't something costly like a tranny issue
