Thank you,
It’s nice to have a reference in case of future mpg loss due to the carbon buildup. I run p-rated 275/65 r18 all terrain tires, short PPV air dam and have a mild level with the Bilstein front shocks. Plus my AFM is disabled.

Did GM every change the timing to delay closing the valves upon compression, allowing a small amount of the unburned fuel mixture to "backwash" the valves? Not that that would make much of a difference, but I believe Ford did so to help keep their intake valves cleaner.

I have the 6.2L and stock 22s. AFM disabled since I brought it home from the dealer.

No clue on GM... doubt it though. Curious on the new 21's... need to do some homework on those.

Ford... at least the EcoBoost more recently went with PFDI (Port-fuel and Direct-injection) two injectors per cylinder; one on the intake (port) and the other in the cylinder (direct). That solves most of that problem. Want to say Toyota did the same and possible first but could be mistaken.
