cb radio help

im looking to put a cb radio in my 96 tahoe and im just looking for some ideas as to where to the radio its self and where to mount the antenna. Pictures would be great, for the antenna i was looking more on the lines of a magnetic antenna but im open to ideas, and for the radio i was looking to put it in front of the console or even inside the console. Thanks.

I had one that was on top of the trans tunnel right in front of the console. I used a Wilson 1000 antenna (magnet base) and a Cobra 29 radio that was peaked and tuned

wow cb radio the last time i messed around with a cb radio was like 1989 when i was a kid
my dad always liked to mount them on the bottom of the dash keep it out of site back then cb radios were often stolen by smash and grab thiefs we had like 3 ripped off when i was a kid also he always had a big whip atenna mounted opposite of the radio antenna and a PA in the engine bay

The antenna was on the roof near the back. They make a bracket for the cb that bolts to the side of the radio and then mounts wherever you want. I had mine on the bottom side of the dash. You can usually find the bracket at a truck stop. I know my local Pilot and Flyin J carry them

yeah big truck stops carry a ton of cb radio stuff

I have a 4ft firestik whip mounted on the bumper. Ill try and get a pic for you. The cb is mounted on the right side of the console by where the passengers knees would be.

thanks for the reply and the pic i found a spot to put the antenna a friend gave me a broken one to stick on the car to see how it looks and how to route the wire so thats done im going to buy the cb next week and ill post some pics to follow up how it goes.
