Yes, will do. I also tracked down info. on a bulletin.
TSB. #01-07-30-002D. This bulletin points to a bad ignition switch. I found a forum where a guy and the dealer chased the issue from the ignition switch point of view and it turned out to be a bad connection in the multi-pin connector going into the transmission. Interestingly enough that was what Nick (Nick's Transmissions) indicated to look at first.

That's because your engine doesn't have such a thing! That's what I was trying to say. :)

There is a condition where if you have a misfire, the ECU won't enable torque converter clutch lock-up. That doesn't seem to be your case though. You don't have a misfire code and doesn't sound like your engine is running bad or missing.

So I'm curious what the shop is replacing...

Edit: oh ignition switch. Yeah, that could definitely be it!

It's too bad that maybe OP does not have a few tools and a little knowledge because that ignition switch is easy to replace. There is an updated switch that is easy to verify. The old switch was all black. The updated one has a grey side on it. Unless of course they have switched back to all black.

The OP didn't know the ignition switch is easy to replace. Does the key stay the same? Where does the OP get the new switch? I'll look for a Youtube on it. At this point the most likely causes are:
- ignition switch or something very close to it?
- connection at the mulit-pin connector on the transmission
