A lot of people are worried about getting there air intake temperatures lower, which made me think about this. Looking at this thread Home Depot'd my CAI and dropped my IAT 20 degrees! made me think about Ceramic Coating...
1. Would you see any gains by getting your aftermarket intake tubing and/or air box coated? How much of a lower temp do you get or would you need to get to see the most HP gains.?
2. Obviously cost would be a factor. If it cost $100 to coat, is that worth the lower temp and HP you would possibly see.
3. If cost was a factor, could you get the ceramic coating in a can for brakes and just scuff up the metal and do it yourself? Would $20 because reasonable to spend if it did in fact get your IAT's down?
Just throwing some ideas around and wanted to get some input from the community. I'm only doing a few Performance mods, but I guess if you could take a mod like an aftermarket intake and make it the best possible, why not?
Thanks,
Nathan
