Hi everyone, I used to be a member of the tahoeforum but it seems to be dead, so Im hoping here I can share my experiences and take advise from you. I own a chevy 2007 chevy tahoe and need to change the engine since it broke down, so I want to upgrade if possible. Ive been looking at the 6.0L with vvt, the same found in the suburban HD. Does anyone know if I need to mod something? engine mounts are the same, intake appears to be the same, but what about the gearbox and computer module?

Welcome along, and yeah the Tahoe forum is useless now!
But you will need som mods to make the 6.0 work, maybe even a new transmissision, but a new exhaust, maybe odometer, gearbox and many more......I suggest you just go back to the 5.3L Tahoe and get some perfrmance mods.......www.gmpartsdirect.com is a good place or engines at a better price.

wow...blown 2007 engine already?

The 6.0 will drop right in. All you need is the longblock. The intake, wiring, etc just swaps right over, then you'll need the PCM tuned for the 6.0. The 4.8, 5.3 and 6.0 and externally the same,

You should do a diesel! It would take some work, but it would make for a serious truck(HP and econ) if it is built right. An LS3 would be sick too.

You know that the engine is covered by a 100,000 mile warranty. It would cost you nothing at the dealer for replacement. You would not get any power gains but your wallet would not be any lighter
