The 22" 7 spoke wheels are available with either chrome inserts or black inserts. Near where I live most all new Yukons with his wheel have the chrome insert. I like the black. Does anyone know if you can just buy the inserts and replace with the one you want?

I'm not sure which wheels you have, but are the inserts removable? If so could you just take them off and vinyl wrap them?

I have not purchased yet. I do believe they are remove able which is what sparked the question. Rather than custom order the Yukon and waiting forever to get it I am debating taking one with the chrome inserts they have on the lot and switching to black. I am aware of the vinyl wrap option but can't say I am crazy about doing that on the wheels.

They will easily come off, screwed from the back. I like the black better too on that style wheel fwiw.

As part of the deal just ask for them to throw the black center caps in. I'm sure the parts department can easily order a set.

Edit: Just realized it was the inserts not the center caps. Still should be able to swap no problems though. As hosseface mentioned the part numbers he found are correct. I also can't seem to find which is which though for color. A search on Amazon and eBay just return generic pictures and don't specify color in the description. Call the parts department of the dealership and ask them, I'm sure they can see which part number is the black inserts.

I would sure guess it's possible to buy the inserts. Having to buy a new wheel if you crack an insert?..........seems far fetched.

I just checked the GM parts catalog. They are indeed available.

2 choices

20982803

and

20982804

It does NOT specify which is what color though. Just "DESIGN 3" and "DESIGN 10."

Awesome. Thats a nice find. I looked up those numbers and your right its a generic description. How did you figure out these even went to those wheels?

When you say screwed from the back, are you able to access while the wheel is still on the vehicle or do you need to remove the wheels?
