Changing out GPS and 6 Disc

Getting rid of the factory GPS and replacing it with a nice Kenwood DVD/GPS. Can i still make use of the 6 disc or do I need to fill that with an Equalizer or something??

Im asking if I could still run the 6 disc through like AUX or something. I dont want it in there if it doesnt work and I dont want any empty space/plate there.

DOH! Well thanks for the info. And I dont know why I put this into interior instead of electronics....must have been late night. What have other people ended up doing? I havent really seen anything besides factory setup so far.
