SO Listen to this story and let me know what you guys think. Last Saturday I was driving home and my truck wasnt driving correctly. It wasnt down shifting correctly, it was idling weird and when I would come to a stop the truck would almost stall because it wouldnt drop to first gear therefore causing the engine to be dragged down to almost a stall. So I brought it to chevy on monday and a day later they tell me that the truck was fine and that they couldnt "replicate the problem". So I pick up the truck and as I am driving home its doing exactly what said it was doing which aggrevstes me. The next morning I am driving to work and at 70mph the check engine light and traction light come on, then the display says that the stabillitrac needs service, and then the display says engine reducing power and then BOOM, outta no where the engine shuts down. I am now driving a lifeless truck at 70mph. After tearing into chevy I get the truck there and a day later they tell me it was the throttle body. I have the truck back and it runs like a top again but COME ON, A THROTTLE BODY???? Really???? Its a 2010 with under 20,000 miles on it. Why would a throttle body go??? I have been around cars all my life and Ive never seen anything like this. I am just wondering what your guys thoughts are and/or if anybody has had this experience. Thanks

If the issue happened or happens again once the truck heats up. I'm wondering if it's a bad catalytic converter.

That would kill the power to the motor once it's hot, and when it's cold the truck would run fine again....keep us posted if it does it again.

10whthoe,
Although it is would be rare that it would be the throttle body, it could have been. I do apologize for your frustrations. I am glad that the dealership did fix the vehicle for you. Keep us updated.

Thanks for feedback guys but the battery iS just over a year old and it has never been jumped and as far as the dealership i wasnt at all impressed. Basically when they had it the first time and "everything was fine" they told me because they were no lights on they coldnt fix it but after it died on me doin 70 mph they could now diagose it because the check engine light was on. Whatever happened to fiqurung out a problem and not relying soley on a computer????? God I miss the days of big blocks, carburetors, plugs, rotors and caps and a timing gun!!!!! LOL But thanks guys I will keep you posted if anything else goes wrong!

That happened to me, but not at 20k but more like 80k, the freeway came to an immediate stop, so I decided to get off on the exit, and when I gave it gas, no power, engine reduced power, and check engine light. coasted down and waited 5 minutes turn it back on and voila power again. Code was p2135 throttle body. I cleaned it, reseted the cel and havent had that problem since. But I hadn't changed the air filter all this time. I bought a new k&n filter, and I clean it every 15k, which is where your suppose to change the filter anyway. Hope it helps out.
