View attachment 253970 I would like to see this in use. Either the trailers rear bumper may have drag marks or, the tongue weight must be excessive if this needs to be this position to begin with.

Looks similar to what I use on my GMT800 to get to standard ball height.

I use a straight hitch (no drop or rise) on my 05 when im pulling my boat and I have z71 springs and taller tires. An inch or so rise doesn't seem to be unreasonable.

Mine’s the opposite with a slight drop since my rig has auto leveling. My trailer tongue is even with the bumper and no scratches or contact.

Some trailers have more ground clearance so I can see needing to have a little rise on the ball mount.

I recently traded in a 2018 4Runner on a 2020 Tahoe. I have a folding T-top on my boat. It has to fold to get the rig in the boat shed. With a 2" drop on the 4Runner, the folded T-top clears the boat shed by 2-3". The last time I pulled the boat with the 4Runner I had the foresight to measure to the top of the trailer ball, it was 19". At this height the boat trailer is about level.

So, picked up the Tahoe last week and put the same ball mount I'd used in the 4Runner in the Tahoe's receiver. It measured 25-1/2" to the top of the ball.

I had to buy an 8" adjustable ball mount to get the top of the trailer ball down to 19".

I have to use a 6" drop on mine to tow my Bass Tracker. Sit's almost level like an inch high in the front of the trailer but perfect for launching. Some day I wanna drop 2-3 inches in the back to level the truck out and change to a 4" drop mount.

GMT800 (nbs) hitch mount is below the bumper
GMT900 (nnbs) hitch mount is in the bumper

Thus, the nnbs hitch mount sits higher and requires a larger drop drawbar when towing the same trailer than a nbs

I have different drawbars for my 2001 and 2012 to tow my 18' car hauler. I could've killed 2 birds with 1 stone and got an adjustable bar, but I already had the one for the 2001, so I just bought another to use on the 2012

mine is dropped 3” out back and the auto leveling actuators were adjusted back then so my 4K boat only needs a little lift. If you don’t have that a set of helper bags will do the trick when you drop the rear.
