So i have a 99' 2 Door tahoe. 4x4 LT. Anyway, the current gauge cluster shows over 200,000 miles, its been registered by previous owner with a smaller amount so it seems like it could be that much. But i pulled the cluster out to replace some bulbs in it, and i noticed on the bottom right on the green circuit board i see '97 C/K1500........

Does that mean that my cluster was swapped? I know the same one was used for many model years.

And how can i find out the TRUE mileage if so.

Unfortunatly there is just no way to know how many actual miles it has if the cluster has been changed... Mostly I look at the condition of the body, interior and the contents of the oil and tranny pan. If those things look good then the vehicle was probably taken care of... So don't think of yourself as being screwed think of it as a chance to keep a nice truck going mile after mile... Ohh and it is possible that when/if they changed the cluster that they swapped the odomiter from the old one so it would match..

He probably swapped the cluster and moved his old odometer over to the new cluster.

200k stated on odo and a new engine/trans...I would say you're probably in good shape my friend. When rigs start seeing 200k+ miles and drivetrains are swapped, there's no general guidline other then how it currently runs.

If you bought it and it runs well, that's the most important part!!

Now you need to start upgrading that rig and sharing more pics!
