Clanking and wants to jump off the road

Hi everyone Noob to the site. Hopefully somebody can point me in the right direction. Got a 95 Tahoe w/ 220k on it 2nd owner the trucks never let me down. The only thing that doesn't work on it is the power lock switch on the drivers side. Anyway i'm starting to go looney w/ the clanking in front i've narrowed down to the front " A " arms. The noise occurs when hitting a bump or dip in the rd. When I rock the truck i can see play where the front shocks connect to the upper A arms. Quick fix or do I have replace the A arms? 2nd when hitting a slight bump on the rd. while in a bending turn the truck wants to jump out into the woods or the nearest corn field. Would a new poly bushing kit remedy this ? Thanks in advance for any help in my troubles.

The upper shock mounts should be mounting to the frame between the pivot point of arm. Can you get a pictures of what you are mentioning It sound like several bushings are worn out badly and likely some other chassis or steering parts as well. Also have you tried checking for loose steering?

Well are the torsion bars cranked at all?

95 Tahoe with 220K and never been let down ... get ready. LOL

A poly kit may help if the old bushings are all shot, I replaced mine about 225ish, did upper and lower bushings, upper and lower ball joints, sway bar end links and bushings, spindles, inner and outer bearings, rotors, pads, the whole shebang at once. It solve just about every issue I was having at the time. Mine is 2wd, took a long weekend ...
