I'm not sure if the aem is different but with my k&n and airaid filters I've always just rinsed with water and that's done the trick...

Yeah the dry filters are easy. They sell "cleaning kits" for them just like the oiled filters, but I've found that soap and water works fine. Just make sure it's good and dry before you slap it back on and you're golden.

Simple green works best, just refrain from using high pressure water or air as it may damage the filter. You can re-install the filter even when damp, just be sure to rinse the filter thoroughly.

i have the AEM brute force and i spray it with simple green, let sit for awhile, the have a bucket with water in it thats filled up to the top of the filter line when it sits in there, dunk it a few times without letting water go over the intake opening, dump water and fill with clean water, repeat dunking and filling with clean water till no more dirty water appears, i spin the filter in the air till most water spins out of it, then let dry overnight
