I have seen that on numerous customer cars. The HVAC controller gets worn and a new one runs about $120 for New AcDelco GM replacement units.

Also you may read about resetting/recalibration of these units but that wouldn't pertain to the issue you have, just a heads up if you read it online.

Are you talking about the controller unit right there in the dash?

Yea the one he is asking about which is the controller unit, I'm sure if someone was bored enough they could disassemble the whole head unit and clean all the electrical contacts etc, that would probably fix it rather than replacing the whole unit but I don't know if that's even a possibility.

I can eventually turn mine up where I need it, but it requires multiple turns to get it there. Might have to replace mine too...

Found a fully rebuilt unit from ASI on ebay. Cool thing is, they can make them with various colored LED's instead of the standard backlighting.

Since I already have a custom HD cluster with blue LED's, I ordered the new module to match.

I have the same issue. But the problem only occurs when the cabin is cold... like under 50F cold. Once it warms up it begins working fine again. The passenger knob doesn't have a problem.

I'll be getting one of these soon. Thanks!

JoshM, I have the exact situation. Warm cab=controller works. Kinda weird, but I will live with it until it really
starts to bug me.
