console lid slip preventive

Prob dumb question but how do you take the 01 console lid off? Or does anyone have a good idea for some sort of non slip material. I put my cell and ipod on there and always ends up in the pass floor board

You can use that nonslip stuff you put in drawers and cupboards. I have a piece of that I cut out and used soft glue to attach it. Mine looks exactly like this stuff, I'm sure you can get it pretty much anywhere-
