Just had to add some coolant to the hoe today, kept getting a low coolant message and it was looking a little bit low. Just need to find the leak now, very slow leak though.

My question is, at the store I saw coolant that says add to any color. Is it really safe t0o add to any color? I think it was green and mine was red/pink. Is it a special formula so people dont jack up their vehicles?

The only one you shouldn't mix together is 50/50 coolant (any color) with Dexcool. That will sludge up the coolant and possibly damage it.

Autozone sells an additive that is UV reflective, add that and use a blacklight to find the leak. Donuts to dollars it's your water pump at the block.

Will have to try that out with the black light. Looks like I might be getting my coolant flushed out pretty soon then. Added maybe a 1/4 bottle of that 50/50 add to any color stuff earlier today. Gonna go see if its sludged up at all

I would only put dexcool if thats whats in there it will gunk it up bad!! Then you will have to flush the intire system. I personally hate dexcool for this reason I normally flush it out and put regular in there. I'm sure someone on here well troll me for this but I've never had a problem in any of my gm's doing so.

I can tell you from experience you don't need anything but plain ol 50/50 coolant. These radiators are plenty efficient on the NBS's. I ran my truck in Texas in the summer and my new efans never kicked on. I let the truck sit for 10minutes even, nothing. I honestly thought my fans were broken :)

Well I think Im going to go get it flushed today and see if they can just put regular coolant in there. Just in case I get low again before I find the leak I can actually add some to it.
