Cowl Hood

I plan to buy a cowl hood, my hood has 4 dents in it and seriously needs a paint job, so I thought I'd just buy a new one.
In the future, I plan to have a 6.0L LQ4 with a Whipple SC on it.
Will this hood accommodate the height of the engine + the SC on it?

To show that it functions. Ha no, I don't know I was just excited when I finally got the decals off the side, new door handles on, and the new gold pin stripe I put on. So I just took pics of the doors open. + the inside is pretty pimpen now too.

I was considering a cowl hood myself, everyone seems to be doing hd, so I was wanting something else. I saw the preferred vendors avs i think it was had cowl hoods clearance for 200$ +shipping

on second thought that was for 99-02 silverado or 00-06 tahoe

A cowl hood will look bad ass!

Im betting it will clear, but your not gaining room with a cowl hood,
It has a frame work on the underside. But it could be trimmed to give clearence if needed.

Yep, you'll more than likely have to trim it. One of the guys on gmfs dropped in a 6.0 w/ a SC and had to cut out the core on the inside and shim it up to make it all fit.

What's the deal with the HD hoods? I have to replace my hood soon, anyone want to post a pic? Is it for the OBS trucks?

Bummer, trying to do something cool with the hood. Keystone makes a sick looking 442 style Ram air hood for our trucks.....but it's just shy of $800, on ebay!

That hood is by far and away my favorite hood for the OBS. You're right though the price is STEEP.
