hello everyone, im not really new here but my truck has been good to me so i havent needed to post for help until now. my cruise hasnt worked since ive owned the truck and im looking to change that. ive checked the fuses and replaced the switch on the brake pedal to no avail. so im figuring it is either the stalk/switch or the module on the firewall. as you know both of these are fairly expensive and id hate to replace the wrong one. im on a really tight budget (new baby) and cant justify spending 300+ replacing both just to have cruise control. does anyone here know witch one is more likely the culprit ?

damn. i put this post in the wrong year this is an obs post. sorry

Year, Make, Model, Engine size and "flex fuel" or "not" please.

Or just post the first 10 of your VIN.

have you checked the cable going from the cruise motor to the throttle body to see if it's snapped or seized?

unknown at this time.
Disconnect the cruise motor wire connector and ground the negative lead of the multimeter to a good ground. With ignition on turn the cruise slide switch from on to off. As you do you should see system voltage on the gray wire. with that switch still on slide it all the way right and you should see voltage on the gray/black wire. Again with that switch still on press the side button and you should see voltage on the dark blue wire. The brown wire has voltage on it at all times. That will test your switch.
