Curious to members thoughts about Escalade Platinum OEM Tail Lights

First off I was looking into purchasing the Platinum OEM Tailights for the Escalade since im finishing my conversion that were smoked. Called the dealership got the part numbers etc and looked them up online. Everyone has told me they were around $700.00. I searched high and low and could not find a set of OEM smoked platinum tailights until I ran across an ebay auction that matched the part number I was given.

Newest PN: 22884391 (current) Mentions Premium/Platinum on GM website

I found this set on Ebay being sold from a GM dealership with part number that matches the ESCALADE one mentioned above priced at $379.50 Shipped for a brand new set.

Pictures attached. They appear to match but I couldnt determine if these were actually smoked like the platinum. I just received the shipment today and they are labeled as OEM on the outside of the box. They have these two stickers on the physical lights themselves that appear to have GM in the PN and GM etched into the Lens. However they dont appear to be SMOKED so wasnt sure if these were actually real OEM or the aftermarket Chinese brand.........The instructions inside the box had chinese all over them which made me wonder......At the end of the day I only paid 370ish for brand new tailights but really wanted the platinum ones to match my conversion I am doing.

Are they smoked not made anymore or sold by GM anymore?

OR is GM no longer selling the Platinum and changing them to these as a replacement part because its cheaper to try and get it passed the customer.......I have the clear Third brake light mod installed which is why I wanted the platinum rear.

The Platinum were clear like that to match your 3rd brake light. Those do appear to be OEM. Also, are you selling your OEM red Esky tails? I might be interested if you're selling...

Yes I will be joe. Not sure on a number yet but know problems. So which option are the smoke?

I have never seen a "smoked" housing for the Platinum lights, only the clear lense with chrome innards like what you have. I have seen a few people who have smoked the lenses themselves, but not from factory. Let me know in PM if you come up with a number on the red ones. I hope this helps.

I don't believe they came factory smoked. Because I don't believe it's legal for manufacturers to smoke them. But I could be wrong on that. You could always take them to a tint place and have them smoked to match what you want. I know that's pretty inexpensive and is a pretty quick process. I was thinking about doing just s little light smoke layer on my 2006 esky third.

Ive been looking into the platinum taillights and third brake light, for my Denali. Ive noticed that the stock ones have more of a darker chrome which makes them appear smoked & the aftermarkets either come just clear or smoked and in my opinion clearly look different from the oem ones.

that was kind of the reason for this post. we had a platinum at my dealership and it was definitely a darker look than the ones I posted above but the PN from GM is the part posted above. They didnt have a "darker" Chrome option
