Gents,
Anyone cut the new foam bumpstops that come with the 5305 3" drop springs on Tony's kit?
I am reluctant to cut and do the free travel mod as I am trying to keep it as original as possible in event it needs to be reversed if I ever sell the vehicle. I of course replaced the OEM longer stops with the foam ones that came with the 2 / 3-4 Belltech kit (4" rear drop coil/spring with the 1" space in place for 3" drop)and currently have about 1/2" clearance between stop and frame. Was thinking of pulling them and cutting 3/4 inch off of them for bit more travel.
Any issues with doing this?
Thanks

You referring to these little guys? Mine are the polyurethane ones. I cut off the top to give it more clearance from the frame. I do have the free travel mod and those three notches cut off made a world of difference in travel. I ran with that 1/2" you were speaking of initially and I was always hitting the stops. I removed them, cut off so that 1.5 inches from the bottom of the stop remained and it rides much better. Hope that helps a bit even though we are different year set ups.

You can cut it but will still bottom out. Ive been doing the free travel mod and even on leased vehicles traded back in and put back to stock NO ONE noticed. Cut the braket off will just ride better

you can cut 1 inch off those bumpstops. But remember if you cut to much the axle will slap the bumpstop bracket on the frame before bumpstop can do their job

Ive had customers sell to locals that tow no issues. Heck ive even replaced the 2 inch drop with the tbss bags on one and he had a enclosed trailor worked wayyyy better and the 3 inch drop was perfect at ride height with spindles
