CV Axle boot torn!

Hey anyone can you help me? This evening I installed DJM upper control arms with the removeable ball joints! I love the set up. Here is the problem the instructions called to put 2 washers between the castle nut and spindle. Upon doing so it left aproximately 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch between the castle nut and cv boot edge. I had to loosen the cv bolt and slide the axle in approximately an inch to install the nut. (No space to work). Wellll, i took ot for a test drive and upon return the boot was completely detached. Can replace just the boot? If i need to replace the complete cv axle is there an upgrade that will be better?

You can take the axle to be rebooted. Grind down the nut.

Just replace the CV. They are $90 from autozone and take 30 minutes to swap. The hassel of putting a new boot and greasing it up is not worth it.

Yup. The cost in labor to replace the cv-boot + parts is almost the same as replacing the whole axle-shaft. Just get the whole cv-axle and do it yourself.
