I just purchased a 2007 GMC Yukon XL 4x4 with 99k miles. An otherwise excellent vehicle. It has dash cracks on the right into the airbag square and on the left running back towards the drivers side of the gauges. The plastic does not look worn or sun damaged. And the cracks appear to be clean stress fractures. I guess what I'm saying is nothing damaged it.

I've read about guys getting this fixed at the dealership for free, for $100 and for a whole lot more. Any advice on where to take it to in Southern California? I bought a new 2004 at Beverly Hills GMC way back. Will they give me any advantage since I purchased a car from them before? (This present car was a private sale.)

Just want to get it fixed without breaking the bank. Any help greatly appreciated.

Anybody with just experiences trying to get the dash fixed at the dealer? What's the alternative - how much is the dash and how much to have it replaced at a local shop? Any ideas?
