I am about to start my navigation unit install in my '05 Z71. Looks like I will have to remove the dash cover to install the nav antenna. How does the pass side dash handle come off. Also do the air vents just pop out or is there a trick to it.

Dash vents just pop out. Once you get the dash vents out, look up inside the vent hole. On each side, there is a white button you need to press while pulling the handle off. Both buttons need to be pressed to release the handle.

I haven't done that yet but I did read it somewhere. IIRC - remove the AC vents on each side of the glove box and there are buttons inside to release the handle. It should pull straight out I think.

You shouldn't have to remove the dash cover. You should have plenty of room wih the radio out and the glove box all the way open. Open the glove box and push in the stopper on the left side. This will allow the glove box to drop open all the way. Open the access panel on the right side of your dash board. The A pillar has one clip at the top and slides out.

I had to mount the GPS antenna. You have to take the top of the dash off for that. It wasn't actually that bad.
