'07 Yukon XL and have installed HID's (love em) but have heard that they will have problems unless the Daytime Running lights are turned off. Looking for input from others about this problem or if it is even a problem. If you have the same year, etc. what have you done? If you "turned them off" just exactly what is required to do this? Personally I would hate to lose this feature but I do love the HID's especially at night.

I think to turn them off you just remove the relay out of the fuse panel.

Got out the schematics and found the fuse that controls them. When I opened the fuse panel under the hood I found that instead of one fuse as shown on the schematics there are two. Both are listed as DRL but also show DRL1 & DRL2. Removed both....

On the Tahoe the DRL lights and the headlights are 2 different lights...

it's not the same on the Yukons?

and yes, if true HIDs (spark across an air gap) then you do not want to run them as DRLs.

I have an 07 Denali XL and all I did was pull the fuse. #36 if I recall???? I'm traveling right now and don't remember off hand which fuse, but it was clearly labeled in the owners manual.

The DRL and the low are the same on the Yukon. I removed DRL2 so my DRL is no longer on, but everything else worked fine. The auto turn on feature still work fine.

i pulled my fuse out for my day time running lights. I hear they will burn the ballast or bulb on HID.
