Hello everyone,
I want to Debadge my Yukon and was wondering how you did it and what you used to get off all the adhesive. I don't have any access to polisher. Trying to do this with as little cost as possible. Also, I had a coating done on the car if that effects anything.

Thanks

Does it require a drill? mine doesn't work lol

Yes. Anything that works decent will require a drill. To try and do it by hand will use way too much arm power/strength. You could sit there for hours and hours trying to use something like goo gone. Or take 5 minutes with the eraser wheel

I removed my badges using a hair dryer, floss, and some rubbing alcohol. Heated the letters and adhesive up with the hair dryer, used the floss to "cut" them off the truck then cleaned up the remaining residue with some rubbing alcohol. NathanJax is right, the 3M eraser wheel would have been a ton quicker, but I was just using what I had on hand at the moment.

Oh jeez. Go buy a corded drill @ horror fright or something!

No its not necessary, but MUCH easier.

I've done it without the wheel. Lots of elbow grease and goo gone or something similar.

Doesn't alcohol ruin the paint though?

So will the eraser wheel if you use it wrong. Goo gone followed by some good paint correction/detailing will be ok

Be EXTREMELY careful with an eraser wheel on a high rpm corded drill. Those things self destruct at high rpm and shoot off like glass shards.

Just done the wife's Tahoe, eraser wheel on cordless drill, low RPM, finished up with a light buff and then wax. Pretty simple just take your time. Getting all the swirl marks out of the black paint take the longest!
