Hi guys,

I've been seeing a heat gun as the way to remove the moulding on my 2000 Tahoe. This may be a dumb question but isn't it possible for a heat gun to strip the paint?

Not as long as you keep moving the heat gun around as to not build up too much heat in one area and you will be ok!

On those car rebuild/customize cable shows I see them using fishing line behind emblems, medallions, stuff glued on, etc to get them off. I'll sometime want to take the "Yukon XL" script off the tailgate and was looking for the right way too.

Thanks a lot guys. I'll most likely be doing this within the next few weeks. Unfortunately, I just hit a deer and have some minor repairs I'd like to take care of first. Thanks again!

So is the molding on the doors of my 04 Yukon just glued on. I just debased mine with fishing line and a sticker eraser wheel last week and want to do away with the molding too. Also does anyone have pics of a Yukon with the molding removed?
