has anyone ever replaced it with a pocket or something? i have purchased several pockets that the sellers have claimed that it would work, but i guess they fit the regular yukon/tahoe remote cd players. the pockets are always too small.

i wanted a pocket there to be able to put my phone & since i have an aftermarket radio, the in dash cd changer is inoperable & just seems to be wasted space.

anyone have any info?

idk how it mounts into the dash, but is there a mount on it that you can take off? in my 96 i was able to take the mount off the stock cd player and i made my own pocket out of some 1/8" plate steel sheared and tacked together, then drilled some holes and screwed the mount to it and just put it in the dash, worked great

hmm, i haven't actually looked at the mount yet. but it is hard for me (not having the materials/ability) to fabricate something. that's why i was wondering if there was something that was sort of mass market.
