Are there any known issues to be aware of or look for on the 01-02 Denali's with a 100-150k miles?

I'm not sure about the 02's with that milage but my 04 has just under 45k and I haven't had any issues what so ever. If you buy a higher milage denali the first thing I recommend is changing any and all fluids to royal purple fluids, ie. transmission, front/rear diff, etc.

Before buying the denali I would check the rear air-ride for leaks or damage as this can be a costly repair and after that you should be pretty good to go.

I'm sure the other guys will pop in with more info for ya

Yeah, check the air ride. My entire rear suspension had to be replaced as my compressor went out two weeks after buying it. That is not cheap stuff to replace, either, although there are ways to reduce costs over the dealer. If you need to do this, let me know and I'll point you to cheaper parts.

Everything else on mine, with about 130k miles, works great. I've heard the trannies have a tendency to go out, and everyone says to get the Corvette servo installed as it helps prevent this. It's like a $20 part, but I still haven't done this because I had to lay down so much on the suspension right after dropping everything I had on the truck itself and I can't afford the shop time right now.

That's all I know of. Enjoy one of the finest rides around!

i have a 02 but its only go 80xxx miles on it. I havent had any problems out of it. Then again i drive it for like a month and it sits in the shop for like 6 plus months. Its been like that for the last 2 years.

Just do a thorough check on it and enjoy it. They are great trucks for sure.

So, this particular one is a Black 01 with 135k miles with all the options except TV. The only two things that I'm aware of that aren't working is the 6disc changer and some shock sensor light is on. The truck is about 4 1/2hrs away so I haven't got a good look yet. Hmmm... just thinking is that shock sensor (or whatever it's called) they are telling me about the air ride maybe?

This is what the owner told me.... "The brakes were done in March 09 and tires are about a year old. The battery is one week old. We just had it checked out and had the front drivers wheel bearing and sensor replaced. The oil was changed regularly."

I wonder where I should be on price $7300-7800 maybe? Maybe $7000-7300 if the air ride is bad. What does that do anyway, adjust the rear ride height?

I really appreciate your guy's help!

I'd be worried about that shock light. If it's got air ride and it's not working, it can be expensive to fix. Depends on if you want to keep the air ride or switch to standard shocks, though. If you go to standard shocks, it's not too bad. Either way, get it looked at or offer $1000 less to offset repairs/replacements.

What is the point of the air ride? Just to adjust the ride height?

Oh, sorry...missed that part.

It adjusts ride height based on load. It's handy for towing heavy things, not so much otherwise unless you pack a full truck a lot. The shocks also electronically dampen the ride, adjusting constantly to conditions. If you go standard you lose that, too.
