For the people that have them, how bad is the shaking with the plastic brackets? And what options are there for stiffening them up?

My shaking is not noticeable during driving, even on crappy VT roads. there is some shake when I hit a frost heave but you do not notice it because your teeth are also rattling.

For peice of mind however, I would like to stiffen mine up. I do not want any rattling to knock off adjustment or look annoying to oncoming traffic. It cheapens it.

On a side note, I have seen so many crappy cars out there with HIDS in non projector housings. It urks me....so glad you got DEPOS.

I did just put in my HIDs, but i haven't gotten the projectors yet. :emotions33:

i was just wanting to make sure there wasn't that much shaking. i'm with you and feel the shaking would make them seem cheaper. I think i'm going to pick some up since my birthday was monday. and eventually i'll probably do the retrofit on down the road.

would it be possible to use the factory bracket or do the holes not line up as i've read elsewhere?

i read where a few used half of a ping pong ball to stiffen up the brackets. not sure i like that idea.

i ordered some depo's for my hoe... but i was thinking...
whats the big deal with projectors?
reason i mention it is i just bought a G35 infinity that has some bright ass hid's (STOCK) in it but the housing isnt a projector...
looks great, i havent yet had anyone flash me in the tahoe or infinity.
though i will say with the tahoe behind me with the g35 being rather low to the ground... my lights in the tahoe are bright as hell but not blinding, just irritating to see in the rearview or side mirrors seeing that the truck sits up so much higher

I think it has to do with scattering light. Projectors prevent ALL THAT light from going all over...in theory.
I just like the looks. I hate that fogged over opaque stock garbage.

I am lazy and did ping pongs lol. Sounds silly, but it worked. You could change the bracker over from your OEM headlights I believe. They are much stiffer. Or you could stiffen up the bracket where the pin goes in the secure it to the car. That is the part that flexes. Attach a piece of metal to it or something.

Here's my take:
If you're the kind of person that is **** about their ride, you'll notice the bouncing. It's not severe, but I am insanely crazy when it comes to stuff like that, so I had to do something. Some folks have said when they put their HID's in, the bouncing went away (theoretically from the wiring and such filling the space), but mine didn't. The issue is that the part where the pin goes in is only attached at the top of the assembly. I took an old spacer from a universal flat panel mount I had laying around and glued in between the back of the headlight bowl and the arm that the pin goes through. That stiffened it up much the way a ping pong ball would.

Honestly, it didn't seem like that big of a deal to fix. That's the only negative I have found to the Depo's.
